Onward to Peronne

After a hearty breakfast then another at Lille Police Station (which made up for not getting out pudding the night before) we headed under police escort to Seclin where we said goodbye to the polis at Lille. Off they went laden with a tower of single oatcakes and a can of Belhaven best. They probably stopped in a lay-by and gorged themselves on the oatcakes washed down with a Belly Best and had some creamy teacakes for pudding....woops....puddings not allowed.

Onward to Peronne where we stopped at Vitry Artois where we had a sandwich. Up a few hills toward Peronne and stopped at the wee bar that we can never remember the name of. Martin and Willie never looked back and had a wee extra mile or two before turning back for a pint with the rest of us. We then met the Peronne cyclist club and Alan tried to kill them with some very bad driving. Into The town and had our photo taken outside the castle. Off to the hotel then out for a reception with the local Mayoress. Very nice people and a nice meal. On the way back it was f Bob's turn to show his lack of driving skills and it took us an hour or two to calm before grabbing some sleep. Tomorrow Compiegne.

Look...no pudding!
